Description of the Sculpture

The Medeinė backyard is transitional one and walking trough it you can reach a backyard between Stiklių str. where you just came, The Town Hall Square and Vokiečių str. i.e. the former Jewish Qarter. You can take direction of the Great Synagogue, or of the Town Hall Square or just go back to Medeinė backyard.

The backyard is closed one. The sculpture is dedicated to Francysk Skaryna (Pranciškus Skorina) who founded the printing house in the 16th cent. in Vilnius and printed the first book in the GDL in the old Ruthenian language called A Little Travel Book (1522).
