Naturally, the question arises why I'm talking about that only in 2017.
And the answer is quite simple, in the articles published on the web, it was mentioned for several times, that it's not planned to show the TV series in Lithuania.
So, only on last two Sundays (March 19 and 26) Anna Karenina was launched on LRT.
It's quite amazing to see Vilnius in the Italian TV series based on a classic Russian Novel.
The opening scene, where Kitty Scerbatskaya and Kostia Lensky meet after some break, was filmed on Lukiskes square on ice (I think that I almost remember that ice on Lukiskes Square).
The manor of the Karenins is the Vileišis Palace in Antakalnis.
The manor of Kostia Lensky is Markuciai Manor.
The fields of Lensky were shot in (as I've recognized it) Rumšiškės.
For several times the Vilnius railway station served as the late 19th century railway stations of Saint Petersburg and Moscow.
Frequent scenes were shot on Domininkonai str. or Didzioji str., just in front of the Philharmonic.
One scene was shot in on the frontyard of the Verkiai Palace.
The Uzutrakis Manor served as the place where Anna and Vronsky were spedning their time in Italy.
And finally, the Scherbatsky Palace was shot ouside of and inside of baroque Rundāle Palace in southern Latvia, not far away from Lithuanian border.
To sum up, it was really fun to see all these well known places in the Italian TV series.
