Day 38. A walk in the State Cultural Reserve of Vilnius Castles

Let's a have a walk in the State Cultural Reserve of Vilnius Castles today,

Starting point of our walk is the Monument to King Mindaugas.
Now, we are going towards the Kalnai Park  (also: Kalnu Park).

We pass the Museum of Applied Arts on the right and the Pilies Bridge (only in LT), and we enter the territory of The State Cultural Reserve of Vilnius Castles.


We climb to the Kalnai Park.

Now, we proceed to the Hill of Three Crosses ( or co called The Bare Hill or the Crooked Hill) where the monument of Three Crosses stands.

Let's step on the Bekesh Hill ( in LT: Bekešo kalnas).

Steps down the hill to the Bernardinai Garden

But we don't go down the stairs ... although is abolutely possible to go there and then to go up to the Altana Hill (in LT)
We go back



And then we go down the hill. We pass the Vilnius Mound (in LT) on the left. 
We reach Kriviu street passing building Kriviu str. 44 - 48.  we walk Kriviu street till the building with No. 24 (the entrance is between buildings 24 &22) and turn right to the Gediminas Grave Hill (in LT)

Then we walk till the Altanos Hill. Here we find a nice see-saw (well, it was in 2017, but in 2019 it's no longer there) :) 

And we continue:


1) We go down the hill to Užupis, just behind the Užupis Gymnasium building and we continue the walk in Artistic & Romantic Užupis (as described in Day 51) 

or

2) We chose the shorter way and we go down the hill to the Bernardinai Garden. We pass the bridge which connects the Bernardinai Garden with a building of Embassy of the Netherlands in Lithuania.

We go towards the Catherdral Square, we pass the Kirdejai Palace on the left and a sculture of Lithuanian Hound.

We end our walk in front of the Cathedral. 
and our walk took approximately 2 hours 20 minutes.
