Day 26. Vilnius Book Fair 2016.

17th International Vilnius Book Fair  was held on February 25-28, 2016 in LITEXPO.
It's the biggest event of that kind in the Baltic States.

They say that each year it's attended by more than 60,000 visistors.
But I would say that even more...
I've visited the fair on Saturday.... see below:

Admission: 1 day single ticket - 5 EUR ( since I am fast a turtle I couldn't manage to buy this ticket for 4 eur) :)

The grand popular annual fair is widely called by people simply Kaziukas.
This year Fair toook place on March 04 - 06.

The fair could be described in several words: crowds of people, verbos, variuos gingerbreads (but not the Christmas ones), bubliks ( OMG, this word does really exist also in English!!! it means riestainis or baronka), hundreds of craftsmen, crowds of people and one more time crowds of people.

Day 110. Vilnius Grand Christmas Fair @LITEXPO

Vilnius Grand Christmas Fair @LITEXPO takes place also on the next weekend after Christmas Tree lightening.

This year (2019) it was just the 3rd fair.

Admission: Free :)

Day 116. Fashion Bazaar Christmas

Fashion Bazaar Kalėdos this year (2019) took place on the third Saturday of the Advent @Siemens Arena.

I do not have information is this annual event or just single time event.
I would probably confirm or deny it the next year.

Day 3. Capital Days Festival 2015 (Vilnius Days) #VilniusFestivals

One of the most famous annual Vilnius festivals is taking place each year every first weekend of September.

This year festival took place on 4 - 6 September.

I guess it's a perfect time to celebrate because Vilnius is again fool of people, students have come back to their universities, the city is full of life.

Gedimino street is a place of traditional Capital Days Festival Fair where various craftmen and artist sell their handmade product. Also other etertainments for Vilnius citizents and guest are offered.

All events and concerts are FOR FREE :)

The most remarkable are three grand concerts at the Cathedral Square. On Friday evening we can participate in an opening concert, on Saturday usually guest from other countries are giving their peformace and on Sundays we always have a huge closing concert of most popular Lithuanian artists at that time.

Since Friday was a really rainy day and it was raining all evening I spent my time time at home.

On Saturday I was out of the city, and came back just in the evening.

On Sunday I went to grand closing concert of LEON SOMOV & JAZZU at Cathedral Square. Although I am not a big fan of this band, the can tell concert was really really great.  Hundreds of people have gathered on the square many on wchich were big fans of the band. They were singing along with JAZZU and was a great feeling to participate in this concert even not for fans. Most concert version of the songs sounded much better that the official ones ones on youtube.

I didn't have camera nor a good smartphone, so I am sharing with you an official version of one of most popular songs of LEON SOMOV & JAZZU "Lower than a ground'.

Day 123. Festival- fair TAUTŲ MUGĖ. September in Vilnius

One more traditional festival which takes also place in Vilnius in September is TAUTŲ MUGĖ.

It usually lasts for 3 days. Traditional components of this festival are: the fair and performances of various nations living in Lithuania. 

This year it was the 12th TAUTŲ MUGĖ. 

To sum up,  September in Vilnius is super rich in events.
